  • For best results, we recommend a series of 3 treatments that are spaced out every 4 weeks, and then following up with a yearly maintenance treatment.

  • You may experience pain, itching, swelling, bleeding, bruising and/or erythema at the injection sites. Symptoms are generally mild and resolve spontaneously or with use of Tylenol. 

    • Avoid anti-inflammatory products and multivitamins as previously listed for an additional 5 days after your treatment. 

    • Avoid the systemic use of corticosteroids for 2 weeks after your treatment. 

    • A peripad will be provided post treatment. 

    • You may resume your normal daily activities immediately following treatment. 

    Please call our office if you are feeling increased pain, itchiness, or bleeding at the injection sites.

    Post treatment, Stacey will also discuss any individualized care that may pertain to your treatment.

  • You should not get this treatment if one of the following applies to you:

    • Pregnant or breastfeeding

    • Acute and Chronic Infections

    • Skin disorders i.e. SLE, porphyria, allergies 

    • Cancer and/or Chemotherapy Treatments

    • Severe Metabolic and Systemic Disorders 

    • Abnormal Platelet Function i.e. Hemodynamic Instability, Hypofibrinogenemia, Critical Thrombocytopenia

    • Chronic Liver Disease

    • Anti-coagulation Therapy (Coumadin, Warfarin, ASA, Lovenox)

    • Sepsis

    • Systemic use of Corticosteroids within 2 weeks of procedure

  • Pain, itching or swelling at the injection site

    Potential side effects include:

    • Bleeding, bruising and/or infection

    • Erythema 

    • Allergic reaction to solution or topical anesthetic 

    • Injury to nerve or muscle

    • Minimal or no effect from treatment
